Bilingual (Spanish 2nd language) Tutor - NYC

New York, NYFull-Time

Are you a fluent Spanish speaker who is also a performer, teacher, or creative person with an eager and optimistic outlook in New York City? WE'RE SO GLAD YOU FOUND US!!!

This is a bilingual role. We are specifically hiring tutors who can deliver our chess lessons in Spanish as a second-language program for NYC schools and families, while also communicating comfortably with parents and partners in English. Spanish fluency is required for this position.

Story Time Chess is the only company in the world that teaches children as young as 3 years old how to play chess completely through fun and silly stories. And (shhh...) you do NOT need a ton of prior chess experience to be a great tutor!

We have over 100 teachers/tutors teaching over 15,000 children a week across New York and Los Angeles, and we're expanding bilingual programming to meet growing demand from families and schools who want their children to learn chess in Spanish.

We are looking for fun and creative people who have experience working with children. We value fun way more than we do chess skills. Have we mentioned we love fun...? We want people with passion and heart who see teaching children and building relationships with parents as an enjoyable and meaningful service.

About The Opportunity:

You will teach our storytelling-based chess curriculum in Spanish, primarily in New York City schools running Spanish immersion or dual-language programs, and in the homes of families seeking Spanish-language enrichment. Our curriculum is full of stories, games, and puzzles with outlined lessons to set you up for success - we'll work with you on Spanish-language delivery so the lessons feel natural.
